If you’re afraid of butter, use cream. ~ Julia Child
Now that is what I am talking about.
::giggle::
In my not so humble opinion, the only thing better than eating food, is talking about it.
When this blog challenge prompt came up, I was like, I GOT THIS!
I am sure it’s this way everywhere … food = family/friends = love … a never-ending circle where every special event includes great food. I have to admit watching your weight during those events can be a difficult task; however, who says food has to be bad for you to be good?
Even though some of my indulgences are unhealthy, many more are good for your body. The key is to thoroughly enjoy those celebratory foods during the special events and concentrate on eating healthy the rest of the time.
Without further ado, here are my ten favorite foods:
1) Chicken Wings and Crack Dip: The number one spot is and always will be naked chicken wings with blue cheese dip. A friend gave me the absolutely best blue cheese dressing recipe. It is so good it is affectionately named Crack Dip.
2) Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans: Okay, this isn’t a food so much as it’s a meal. My ultimate comfort food. My meatloaf is anti-ketchup and MUST be firm. It cannot break apart when sliced cold. And I love it cold as much as I like it hot. Cold with just a little bit of homemade mayo and I am in heaven!
3) Chips and Salsa: I almost said Mexican food; however, if the truth be known, it’s all about the chips and salsa for me and hard shell tacos. My favorite salsa is roasted tomatillo followed by fresh pico de gallo. Lots of cilantro. Lots. Mega.
4) Thai Hot and Sour Soup: I’m not a big fan of Thai food, but this soup is the bomb. The best place on earth I have had it was in a little hole in the wall in Fairfield, CA. There is a close second near where I live, but nothing quite compares to that California café.
5) White Rice: I’m not talking generic long grain rice. I am talking about oriental sticky rice. And before people start rolling their eyes about rice being a grain, blah blah blah; rice is a staple eaten by more than half the world’s population and has been for eons. I don’t believe rice is bad. I do know it can cause issues for some, but not for me.
6) Potatoes: ANY POTATO FIXED ANY WAY. Nuff said. ::giggle::
7) Sashimi: Not a huge sushi fan, I can take it or leave it. But give me a plate of raw fish on some shredded cabbage, YUM! I used to go to this Sushi Bar in Augusta, GA … the chef was from Japan, but trained in France. OMG, his raw fish concoctions were amazing. He would make a raw fish salad with all different kinds of fish and vegetables, add rice and some sort of dressing. It was to die for.
8) Crab Legs in Drawn Butter: Do I actually need to say anything else?
9) Cheese: Besides chicken wings, I could probably live on Danish Harvati Cheese and Salami for the rest of my life and be happy. Oh, and beer!
10) Caramel: OMG, A client once sent me a jar of the most decadent caramel I had ever tasted. I asked her to NEVER send it again and not to tell me where to get it. It was that good.
All this talk of food has made me hungry! How about you?
Willing to share your favorite food in the comments?
Tomorrow, I will be posting an old photo of me. Hmmmm, how far back do I want to go? Stay tuned!
Peace Out, Biz

HA! Fudge is not one of my faves. Now if you would have said HOT CARAMEL SUNDAE, I would agree with you.
